徐升晴
出生於台南市,升晴是非常活躍的小提琴演奏家,目前是弦樂團Delirium Musicum的核心成員,並在洛杉磯擔任Iranshahr Orchestra 首席、St. Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra 以及Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra客席二部首席,此外,亦為 California Symphony和New West Symphony成員。
深信音樂有帶給人們希望的力量,在疫情期間,升晴發起 ”S-C Sidewalk Performance”,每星期於西洛杉磯的街角拉琴演奏,為期一年多。她的音樂為許多人帶來感動及安慰,也吸引KTTV Fox 11 Los Angeles新聞以及加拿大多倫多星尚雜誌eliteGen來採訪。「思嘉視界」更將她的故事拍攝製作為紀
錄短片。
升晴的演奏足跡遍及全世界,曾在包括美國紐約林肯中心、卡內基音樂廳、洛杉磯迪士尼音樂廳、智利聖地牙哥文化中心、及荷蘭阿爾克馬爾Remonstrantse教堂等舞台演出,並於Holland America Line的遊輪上,參與其與紐約林肯中心合作的音樂會系列 ”Lincoln Center Stage”。升晴亦積極投入教學工作,在學期間曾擔任Stony Brook University的室內樂講師。目前,徐升晴為加利福尼亞州立大學長灘分校Bob Cole Conservatory小提琴及室內樂助理教授,並任教於洛杉磯柯
爾本社區音樂學院。
除了小提琴演奏家之外,升晴亦從事編曲工作。近期作品包括新亞室內樂團編曲美國國歌,此編曲連續四年在紐約尼克隊的農曆新年比賽演出。演奏她作品的樂團包括66樂集、Amphion String Quartet、Lincoln Center Stage Quintet、新亞室內協會以及曼哈頓交響樂團。
畢業於台南市立永福國小音樂班、台南市立大成國中音樂班,於就讀國立台南女中音樂班二年後,考取紐約茱莉亞音樂院先修班,即赴美就讀。在台期間小提琴師事王麗雯、王怡蓁、陳鈺雯。鋼琴師事許郁萍、黃海蓉、徐瑞穗及黃婉玲。升晴在紐約曼尼斯音樂學院獲學士學位,在紐約茱莉亞音樂學院取得碩士
學位、紐約州立大學石溪分校演奏博士。在美國學琴期間師事 CatherineCho、Christina Khimm、Itzhak Perlman、Aaron Rosand、Philip Setzer。

Sheng-Ching Hsu, Violinist
Born in Tainan City, Sheng-Ching Hsu is an exceptionally active violinist. She is currently a core member of the string ensemble Delirium Musicum, serves as concertmaster of the Iranshahr Orchestra in Los Angeles, and acts as guest principal second violin for both the St. Matthew’s Chamber Orchestra and the Los Angeles Virtuosi Orchestra. She is also a member of the California Symphony and New West Symphony.
Believing deeply in the power of music to bring hope, Sheng-Ching launched the “S-C Sidewalk Performance” during the COVID-19 pandemic, performing weekly on a street corner in West Los Angeles for over a year. Her music touched and comforted many, attracting coverage from KTTV Fox 11 Los Angeles and eliteGen Magazine in Toronto, Canada. Her story was also made into a short documentary film by the program “Vision by Cici”.
Sheng-Ching has performed globally at prestigious venues including Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall in New York, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistral in Santiago, Chile, and the Remonstrantse Kerk in Alkmaar, Netherlands. She was also featured on Holland America Line cruises as part of their “Lincoln Center Stage” concert series in collaboration with Lincoln Center in New York. Passionate about education, she has served as a chamber music instructor at Stony Brook University. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Violin and Chamber Music at the Bob Cole Conservatory of Music at California State University, Long Beach, and also teaches at the Colburn Community School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles.
In addition to being a violinist, Sheng-Ching is also an arranger. Recent works include her arrangement of the U.S. national anthem for the New Asia Chamber Music Society, which has been performed at New York Knicks’ Lunar New Year games for four consecutive years. Her arrangements have been performed by ensembles such as Ensemble 66, the Amphion String Quartet, Lincoln Center Stage Quintet, New Asia CMS, and the Manhattan Symphony Orchestra.
She graduated from the music programs of Yong-Fu Elementary School and Da-Cheng Junior High School in Tainan. After two years in the music program at National Tainan Girls' Senior High School, she was accepted into the Juilliard Pre-College Division and moved to the U.S. Her violin teachers in Taiwan included Wang Li-Wen, Wang Yi-Jhen, and Chen Yu-Wen, and her piano teachers included Hsu Yu-Ping, Huang Hai-Rong, Hsu Jui-Sui, and Huang Wan-Ling.
In the U.S., she earned her Bachelor’s degree from the Mannes School of Music, Master’s degree from the Juilliard School, and Doctorate in Performance from Stony Brook University (SUNY). Her mentors included Catherine Cho, Christina Khimm, Itzhak Perlman, Aaron Rosand, and Philip Setzer.
